Khartoum Medical Students Association
The Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum, is the motive and dream of all future youth who are eager to wear the white medical coat mantle, which, in addition to the renaissance of the health situation in Sudan, earns them the social status that its students obtain due to what is known about the college’s legacy, excellence, and the quality of its education over the most skilled doctors and professors. Therefore, it became the first destination for all outstanding students from different states of Sudan, creating a competitive atmosphere among the academically distinguished. In addition to the academic excellence that the college witnessed from its students, it also witnessed the union of its students under one body that represents their voice in the college, where they established the Khartoum Medical Students Association (KMSA) in 1954, and it continues until now serving the students, the Sudanese community and the health sector.
The association consists of 7 secretariats working in various fields: (General secretariat, Health Education, Social and Sports, Media and Culture, External Affairs, Academic, and finance), creating a rich environment for the development of medical students’ skills in various areas of life, making them more than just doctors, but also leaders, educators, athletes and others, and then these students harness their skills, knowledge and values in community service in the form of community initiatives, the most important of which are those organized by the Health Education Secretariat It runs several activities, namely: health convoys, which the association has used since its inception to run medical missions at a rate of 3 medical missions annually, and medical days that have so far exceeded 500 Medical days in various parts of Sudan, vaccination campaigns against various diseases, in addition to scientific conferences, And research.
